In the light of my entire career in agriculture, I wonder about the place of it in our society and from there, on the function of the agricultural engineer. Far from any ideology, I try to guess by logical reasoning, what will be the future that will be reserved for them under the influence of the major factors of change that are at work today, to start with the climate change. In other words, this blog is not intended to compile information or ideas formulated by others, as far as famous personalities far more visible through the media, have already brilliantly released such contents which are necessary for awareness of the public opinion. Since 2019, my approach has consisted of building new reasoning and hypotheses on climate change and its consequences for food production.
The magnitude and the irreversible nature of the climate change (we will now have to cope with the amount of greenhouse gases trapped in the atmosphere) are out of all proportion to the threat of the extinction of biodiversity that it is fortunately possible to stop. The challenge undoubtedly deserves to question our modes of food production, on behalf of future generations who may not know the golden age that history has reserved for us. To me it is clear that, compared to the rest of humanity, we will have had the chance to be called to birth in a very short era of abundance, under the cosy climate of the temperate regions. The purpose of this blog is to confront my thoughts with those who would argue another point of view on climate change and its consequences, as it is difficult to identify a both clear and single scenario. Looking forward to reading your comments, I wish you a good reading.
